Licking Valley Panthers (Newark, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Maysville Panthers (Zanesville, OH), 12-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lakewood for a Licking County challenge on Friday, April 1.

With the loss, Maysville falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to West Muskingum (Zanesville, OH) to battle the Tornadoes in a Muskingum Valley challenge on Tuesday, March 22. The Tornadoes enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. West Muskingum won 13-11 in their recent non-league challenge against Miller (Corning, OH)
