Leake Academy Rebels (Madden, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Pearl Pirates (Pearl, MS), 7-5 in a non-league test.

With the win, Leake Academy upgrades its record to 10-3 on the season. The Rebels host Winston Academy (Louisville, MS) to battle the Patriots in a MAIS AAAAA District 2 test on Tuesday, March 21. The Patriots come into the test with a record of 11-3. Winston Academy lost 7-4 in their recent non-league test against Tri-County Academy (Flora, MS)

With the defeat, Pearl falls to 7-7 on the season. The Pirates travel to Warren Central (Vicksburg, MS) to battle the Vikings in a 6A Region 6 test on Tuesday, March 21. The Vikings come into the test with a record of 8-7. Warren Central won 5-4 in their recent non-league test against West Harrison (Gulfport, MS)
