Chatham Cavaliers (Chatham, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Magna Vista Warriors (Ridgeway, VA), 8-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Cavaliers now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Randolph-Henry for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 21.

With the loss, Magna Vista falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Warriors host Staunton River (Moneta, VA) to face the Golden Eagles in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 20. The Golden Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 2-0. Staunton River won 14-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Liberty (Bedford, VA)
