New Albany Bulldogs (New Albany, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Baldwyn Bearcats (Baldwyn, MS), 4-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 6-5 record. They take the field next when they host Houston for a 4A Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, March 21. New Albany will face a Hilltoppers squad coming off a 7-0 non-league loss to Pine Grove (Ripley, MS). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 11-4.

With the loss, Baldwyn falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Bearcats travel to New Site (New Site, MS) to face the Royals in a 2A Region 1 challenge on Monday, March 20. The Royals enter the challenge with a record of 3-7. New Site lost 14-7 in their recent non-league challenge against West Union (Myrtle, MS)
