Ponchatoula Green Wave (Ponchatoula, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Covington Lions (Covington, LA), 10-9 in a league challenge.

The Green Wave now own a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host Northshore for a 5A District 6 challenge on Tuesday, March 21.

With the loss, Covington falls to 3-3 on the campaign. The Lions host Denham Springs (Denham Springs, LA) to battle the Yellowjackets in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 20. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 1-6.
