Spectators at Thursday's non-league match between the West Stanly Colts (Oakboro, NC) and the visiting South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC), witnessed West Stanly's softball squad tip South Caldwell by a count of 3-0.

The Colts now sport a 6-1 record. They play next when they host Anson for a Rocky River 2A/3A match on Tuesday, March 21. West Stanly will face a Bearcats squad coming off a 8-6 non-league loss to Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Bearcats record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, South Caldwell moves to 5-1 on the season. The Spartans host Watauga (Boone, NC) to face the Pioneers in a Northwestern 3A/4A match on Tuesday, March 21. The Pioneers go into the match with a record of 3-3. Watauga won 14-13 in their recent non-league match against Alleghany (Sparta, NC)
