The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Hoover Cardinals (San Diego, CA) and the host Horizon Prep Lions (Rancho Santa Fe, CA), saw Hoover's volleyball squad beat Horizon Prep by a tally of 2-0.

With the win, Hoover upgrades its record to 3-7 on the year. The Cardinals host Mount Miguel (Spring Valley, CA) to play the Matadors in a non-league bout on Saturday, March 16. The Matadors go into the bout with a record of 1-14. Mount Miguel lost 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Calexico (Calexico, CA)

The Lions now own a 4-8 record. They play next when they host King-Chavez Community for a Pioneer bout on Tuesday, March 19. Horizon Prep will play a Lions squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Cristo Rey (San Diego, CA). The Lions record now stands at 2-1.
