Ohio County Eagles (Hartford, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Apollo Eagles (Owensboro, KY), 6-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Bowling Green for a non-league match on Monday, March 18. Ohio County will face a Purples squad coming off a 13-0 non-league loss to Franklin-Simpson (Franklin, KY). The Purples record now stands at 0-4.

With the loss, Apollo moves to 1-1 on the season. The Eagles travel to Owensboro Catholic (Owensboro, KY) to face the Aces in a District 9 match on Tuesday, March 19. The Aces go into the match with a record of 1-1. Owensboro Catholic lost 8-3 in their recent non-league match against South Warren (Bowling Green, KY)
