Centennial Golden Hawks (Bakersfield, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Simi Valley Pioneers (Simi Valley, CA), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Golden Hawks now own a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they host Stockdale for a South Yosemite River challenge on Monday, March 18. Centennial will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 9-6 non-league loss to Clovis North (Fresno, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-5.

With the loss, Simi Valley falls to 7-7 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Camarillo (Camarillo, CA) to battle the Scorpions in a Coastal Canyon challenge on Thursday, March 21. The Scorpions enter the challenge with a record of 9-2.
