El Camino Wildcats (Oceanside, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mayfield Cubs (Pasadena, CA), 6-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 6-7 record. They take the field next when they host Mission Vista for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 20. El Camino will battle a squad coming off a 5-2 non-league win over Mission Bay (San Diego, CA). The record now stands at 6-4.

With the loss, Mayfield falls to 8-3 on the campaign. The Cubs travel to Rio Hondo Prep (Arcadia, CA) to battle the Kares in a Prep challenge on Tuesday, March 19. The Kares enter the challenge with a record of 5-3. Rio Hondo Prep lost 5-4 in their recent league challenge against Providence (Burbank, CA)
