St. Benedict at Auburndale Eagles (Cordova, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting George County Rebels (Lucedale, MS), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they host University School of Jackson for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 19. St. Benedict at Auburndale will face a Bruins squad coming off a 8-4 non-league loss to Dyersburg (Dyersburg, TN). The Bruins record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, George County falls to 7-4 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Hancock (Kiln, MS) to face the Hawks in a 6A Region 4 challenge on Tuesday, March 19. The Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 7-1. Hancock lost 6-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Northwest Rankin (Brandon, MS)
