Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Watertown Purple Tigers (Watertown, TN) and the visiting Independence Eagles (Thompson's Station, TN), witnessed Watertown's softball squad tip Independence by a count of 5-2.

The Purple Tigers now sport a 2-1 record. They play next when they host Upperman for a non-league match on Monday, March 18. Watertown will meet a Bees squad coming off a 12-0 non-league loss to Gordonsville (Gordonsville, TN). The Bees record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Independence moves to 1-3 on the season. The Eagles host Nolensville (Nolensville, TN) to meet the Knights in a 4A District 10 match on Tuesday, March 19. The Knights go into the match with a record of 2-1. Nolensville won 7-1 in their recent non-league match against Franklin County (Winchester, TN)
