Lamar County Bulldogs (Vernon, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host West Point Warriors (Cullman, AL), 8-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 7-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Curry for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 16. Lamar County will battle a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 16-1 league win over Haleyville (Haleyville, AL). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 13-3.

With the loss, West Point falls to 8-4 on the campaign. The Warriors host Fairview (Cullman, AL) to battle the Aggies in a 5A Area 12 challenge on Monday, March 18. The Aggies enter the challenge with a record of 8-3. Fairview won 15-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Vinemont (Vinemont, AL)
