Scott County Central Braves (Sikeston, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting South Pemiscot Bulldogs (Steele, MO), 13-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Braves now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Bloomfield for a Class 1 District 3 challenge on Monday, March 18.

With the loss, South Pemiscot falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Charleston (Charleston, MO) to battle the Bluejays in a Class 2 District 1 challenge on Saturday, March 16. The Bluejays enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Charleston lost 16-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Bernie (Bernie, MO)
