The Marcos de Niza Padres baseball team scored 4 runs and limited the visiting McClintock Chargers to 3 in the Padres non-league victory on Thursday.
The Padres (3-8) will now prepare for their match against American Leadership Academy (Queen Creek, AZ). The Patriots go into the 4A Desert Sky match with a 1-5 record. In their last match, American Leadership Academy was edged by Combs (San Tan Valley, AZ), 8-7, in a non-league match.
The Chargers (1-9) will now prepare for their match against Paradise Valley (Phoenix, AZ). The Trojans go into the 5A Northeast Valley match with a 8-2 record. In their last match, Paradise Valley edged Apollo (Glendale, AZ), 9-5, in a non-league match.
