Nettleton Raiders (Jonesboro, AR) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), 7-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Raiders now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Searcy for a 5A East challenge on Tuesday, March 29.

With the loss, Newport falls to 3-3 on the campaign. The Greyhounds host Clinton (Clinton, AR) to face the Yellowjackets in a 3A-1 East challenge on Tuesday, March 29. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 0-1.
