The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs softball team scored 11 runs and limited the visiting Pieper Warriors to 3 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Nixon-Smiley improves its record to 6-11 on the year. The Mustangs host Stockdale (Stockdale, TX) to clash with the Brahmas in a 3A Region IV District 26 game on Tuesday, March 22. The Brahmas come into the game with a record of 2-5. Stockdale won 11-0 in their recent non-league game against Three Rivers (Three Rivers, TX)

In their next game, the Warriors clash with the Gonzales Apaches (Gonzales, TX) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, March 22. Pieper will attempt to improve on its 1-8 season record. The Apaches come into the game with a 7-10 record after their 10-0 non-league loss to Pearsall (Pearsall, TX).
