The Hickory Hawks softball team scored 7 runs and limited the host Currituck County Knights to 2 in the Hawks non-league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Hickory improves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Hawks host Tabb (Yorktown, VA) to clash with the Tigers in a non-league game on Thursday, March 23. The Tigers come into the game with a record of 0-2. Tabb lost 14-2 in their recent league game against New Kent (New Kent, VA)

In their next game, the Knights clash with the Camden County Bruins (Camden, NC) in a Northeastern Coastal 2A/3A game, on Tuesday, March 21. Currituck County will attempt to improve on its 2-2 season record. The Bruins come into the game with a 6-1 record after their 10-7 league win over Pasquotank County (Elizabeth City, NC).
