Mountainside Mavericks (Beaverton, OR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting West Linn Lions (West Linn, OR), 4-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Mavericks now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host West Salem for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 21. Mountainside will battle a Titans squad coming off a 15-3 non-league loss to Jesuit (Portland, OR). The Titans record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, West Linn falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Lions host Sprague (Salem, OR) to battle the Olympians in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 20. The Olympians enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. Sprague lost 15-2 in their recent non-league challenge against McMinnville (McMinnville, OR)
