The Porter Pirates baseball team scored 7 runs and held the visiting Varnum Whippets to 5 in the Pirates non-league win on Monday.
The Pirates now hold a 4-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to New Lima for a non-league test on Monday, March 17. Porter will play a Falcons team coming off a 8-7 non-league win over Marietta (Marietta, OK). The Falcons record now stands at 4-2.
With the defeat, Varnum drops to 5-1 on the year. The Whippets travel to Leedey (Leedey, OK) to play the Bison in a non-league test on Thursday, March 20. The Bison go into the test with a record of 2-3.
