North Carolina High School Softball - Hayesville held off by Smoky Mountain

The Smoky Mountain Mustangs got by the visiting Hayesville Yellowjackets softball squad by a count of 7-6 in Monday's non-league challenge.

Next up, the Mustangs play the Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, March 19. Smoky Mountain will attempt to improve on its 2-7 season record. The Bulldogs enter the game with a 2-2 record after their 6-2 league loss to Swain County (Bryson City, NC).

The Yellowjackets now hold a 1-2 record. They play next when they host Hiwassee Dam for a Smoky Mountain 1A game on Tuesday, March 18. Hayesville will play a Eagles squad coming off a 6-2 league loss to Swain County (Bryson City, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 1-1.
