In Monday's non-league match, the host Kewanee Boilermakers softball team scored a tight 4-3 victory over the LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers.
The Boilermakers (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Marquette (Ottawa, IL). The Crusaders go into the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Marquette tipped Lexington (Lexington, IL), 8-5, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Cavaliers battle the Bloomington Purple Raiders (Bloomington, IL) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, March 19. LaSalle-Peru will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Purple Raiders go into the match with a 1-0 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Limestone (Bartonville, IL).
