Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers (Severn, MD) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting St. Mary's Ryken Knights (Leonardtown, MD), 6-0 in a league challenge.
The Cavaliers now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Northern for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 22. Archbishop Spalding will face a Patriots squad coming off a 7-2 league win over Leonardtown (Leonardtown, MD). The Patriots record now stands at 1-0.
With the loss, St. Mary's Ryken falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Knights travel to St. Paul VI (Chantilly, VA) to face the Panthers in a Washington Catholic challenge on Tuesday, March 22. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
