The Porter Ridge Pirates softball team scored 13 runs and limited the visiting Cox Mill Chargers to 3 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Porter Ridge improves its record to 5-2 on the year. The Pirates host Piedmont (Monroe, NC) to clash with the Panthers in a Southern Carolina 4A game on Tuesday, March 22. The Panthers come into the game with a record of 7-2. Piedmont lost 3-2 in their recent non-league game against West Stanly (Oakboro, NC)

In their next game, the Chargers clash with the Lake Norman Wildcats (Mooresville, NC) in a Greater Metro 4A game, on Tuesday, March 22. Cox Mill will attempt to improve on its 3-5 season record. The Wildcats come into the game with a 4-1 record after their 5-4 league loss to Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC).
