In Friday's non-league contest, the Philip Barbour Colts (Philippi, WV) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Elkins Tigers (Elkins, WV), by a margin of 11-3.
With the triumph, Philip Barbour moves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Colts host Robert C. Byrd (Clarksburg, WV) to play the Eagles in a Big Ten contest on Monday, March 21. The Eagles come into the contest with a record of 1-1. Robert C. Byrd won 7-4 in their recent non-league game against University (Morgantown, WV)
In their next game, the Tigers clash with the Lincoln Cougars (Shinnston, WV) in a Big Ten game, on Thursday, March 24. Elkins will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record.
