Marquette Crusaders (Ottawa, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Genoa-Kingston Cogs (Genoa, IL), 14-10 in a non-league challenge.

The Crusaders now own a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Batavia for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 19. Marquette will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 11-8 non-league win over Genoa-Kingston (Genoa, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Genoa-Kingston falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Cogs travel to Newark (Newark, IL) to battle the Norsemen in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 19. The Norsemen enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. Newark won 2-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Riverdale (Port Byron, IL)
