Cedar Reds (Cedar City, UT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mountain Ridge Sentinels (Herriman, UT), 8-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Reds now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Desert Hills for a challenge on Tuesday, April 4.

With the loss, Mountain Ridge falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Sentinels host Granger (West Valley City, UT) to battle the Lancers in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 20. The Lancers enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Granger lost 13-5 in their recent league challenge against Cyprus (Magna, UT)
