Trinity Christian Lions (Lubbock, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hermleigh Cardinals (Hermleigh, TX), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now own a 5-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Midland Christian for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 21. Trinity Christian will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 21-2 non-league win over Lake View (San Angelo, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 14-8.

With the loss, Hermleigh falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Roby (Roby, TX) to battle the Lions in a 1A Region I District 7 challenge on Tuesday, March 21. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 3-3. Roby lost 20-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Cooper (Abilene, TX)
