Northview Vikings (Covina, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Walnut Mustangs (Walnut, CA), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 8-2 record. They take the field next when they host Charter Oak for a Valle Vista challenge on Monday, March 20. Northview will face a Chargers squad coming off a 7-2 non-league win over Crescenta Valley (La Crescenta, CA). The Chargers record now stands at 6-3.

With the loss, Walnut falls to 3-11 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Wilson (Hacienda Heights, CA) to face the Wildcats in a Hacienda challenge on Wednesday, March 22. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 3-6. Wilson lost 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Schurr (Montebello, CA)
