The Chalmette Owls softball team scored 15 runs and limited the host Academy of Our Lady Penguins to 3 in the Owls non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Chalmette improves its record to 10-5 on the year. The Owls host West Jefferson (Harvey, LA) to clash with the Buccaneers in a 5A District 8 game on Tuesday, March 19. The Buccaneers come into the game with a record of 0-9. West Jefferson lost 17-0 in their recent non-league game against St. Martin's Episcopal (Metairie, LA)

In their next game, the Penguins clash with the New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy Bulldogs (New Orleans, LA) in a 4A District 10 game, on Tuesday, March 19. Academy of Our Lady will attempt to improve on its 11-7 season record. The Bulldogs come into the game with a 1-5 record after their 17-0 non-league loss to Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy (Avondale, LA).
