Canby Cougars (Canby, OR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Bend Lava Bears (Bend, OR), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to McMinnville for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 19. Canby will battle a Grizzlies squad coming off a 13-3 non-league win over West Salem (Salem, OR). The Grizzlies record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, Bend falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Lava bears travel to Oceanside (Oceanside, CA) to battle the Pirates in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 21. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 6-2. Oceanside lost 4-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Sage Creek (Carlsbad, CA)
