The Rayne Wolves (Rayne, LA) softball nipped the visiting Mamou Demons (Mamou, LA), 5-4 in Monday's non-league bout.
The Wolves (9-10) will now prepare for their bout against Leesville (Leesville, LA). The Wampus Cats go into the 4A District 3 bout with a 4-11 record. In their last bout, Leesville was edged by Eunice (Eunice, LA), 11-1, in a league bout.
The Demons now possess a 10-5 record. They play next when they host Church Point for a 3A District 4 bout on Tuesday, March 19. Mamou will confront a Bears squad coming off a 16-3 non-league loss to Winnfield (Winnfield, LA). The Bears record now stands at 9-8.
