Southern Durham Spartans (Durham, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting NCSSM: Durham Unicorns (Durham, NC), 16-11 in a non-league challenge.
The Spartans now own a 1-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Louisburg for a Northern Lakes Athletic 2A/3A challenge on Tuesday, March 19. Southern Durham will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 21-1 league win over Durham School of the Arts (Durham, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 2-2.
With the loss, NCSSM: Durham falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Unicorns travel to Durham School of the Arts (Durham, NC) to clash with the Bulldogs in a non-league game on Wednesday, April 3. The Bulldogs come into the game with a record of 0-6.
