Texas High School Baseball - Valley View edges Rio Hondo

March 18, 2025: Rio Hondo, TX 78583

The Valley View Tigers baseball team scored 6 runs and held the host Rio Hondo Bobcats to 3 in the Tigers non-league win on Tuesday.

The Tigers now own a 8-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Economedes for a non-league test on Wednesday, March 19. Valley View will clash with a Jaguars team coming off a 21-6 non-league loss to Veterans Memorial (Brownsville, TX). The Jaguars record now stands at 4-12.

With the defeat, Rio Hondo drops to 12-5 on the year. The Bobcats travel to Lyford (Lyford, TX) to clash with the Bulldogs in a 3A Region IV District 32 test on Friday, March 21. The Bulldogs go into the test with a record of 11-7. Lyford lost 7-3 in their recent non-league test against Santa Gertrudis Academy (Kingsville, TX)
