In Saturday's non-league contest, the Nettleton Raiders (Jonesboro, AR) softball team held off the visiting Melbourne Bearkatz (Melbourne, AR), by a margin of 9-8.
With the triumph, Nettleton moves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Raiders host Searcy (Searcy, AR) to play the Lions in a 5A East contest on Tuesday, March 29. The Lions come into the contest with a record of 1-0.
In their next game, the Bearkatz play the Walnut Ridge Bobcats (Walnut Ridge, AR) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, March 19. Melbourne will attempt to move on its 1-3 season record. The Bobcats come into the contest with a 3-1 record after their 7-4 league loss to Gosnell (Gosnell, AR).
