Sanger Apaches (Sanger, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Merced Bears (Merced, CA), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Apaches now own a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they host Mt. Whitney for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 22. Sanger will face a Pioneers squad coming off a 8-6 non-league loss to Central Valley Christian (Visalia, CA). The Pioneers record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Merced falls to 5-4 on the campaign. The Bears travel to El Capitan (Merced, CA) to face the Gauchos in a Central California Conference challenge on Tuesday, March 22. The Gauchos enter the challenge with a record of 7-4. El Capitan won 7-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Sonora (Sonora, CA)
