Southside Sharks (Youngsville, LA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Barbe Buccaneers (Lake Charles, LA), 14-2 in a league challenge.

The Sharks now sport a 12-7 record. They take the field next when they host Kaplan for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 20. Southside will face a Pirates squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Opelousas Catholic (Opelousas, LA). The Pirates record now stands at 18-2.

With the loss, Barbe falls to 11-14 on the campaign. The Buccaneers host Sam Houston (Lake Charles, LA) to face the Broncos in a 5A District 3 challenge on Monday, March 25. The Broncos enter the challenge with a record of 9-10.
