Shorecrest Prep Chargers (St. Petersburg, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Cambridge Christian Lancers (Tampa, FL), 6-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Chargers now own a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lakeland Christian for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 21. Shorecrest Prep will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 16-1 league win over Foundation Christian Academy (Valrico, FL). The Vikings record now stands at 8-0.

With the loss, Cambridge Christian falls to 0-7 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Saint Stephen's Episcopal (Bradenton, FL) to battle the Falcons in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 21. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 3-4. Saint Stephen's Episcopal lost 14-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Lakeside Christian (Clearwater, FL)
