Diamond Wildcats (Diamond, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Purdy Eagles (Purdy, MO), 6-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 7-0 record. They take the field next when they host Buffalo for a Class 2 District 7 challenge on Tuesday, March 19. Diamond will face a Bison squad coming off a 5-4 non-league loss to Strafford (Strafford, MO). The Bison record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Purdy falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, MO) to face the Mountaineers in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 22. The Mountaineers enter the challenge with a record of 7-2. Mt. Vernon lost 9-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Diamond (Diamond, MO)
