The Middletown Cavaliers routed the host Newark Charter School Patriots softball squad by a final score of 16-1 in Tuesday's non-league battle.
The Cavaliers (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against St. Mark's (Wilmington, DE). The Spartans go into the non-league battle with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, St. Mark's notched a victory over Concord (Wilmington, DE), 15-5, in a non-league battle.
The Patriots now possess a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Wilmington Charter for a Diamond State battle on Monday, March 25.
