Richlands Wildcats (Richlands, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Northside - Jacksonville Monarchs (Jacksonville, NC), 16-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they host Topsail for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 20. Richlands will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 12-0 league win over North Brunswick (Leland, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 7-0.

With the loss, Northside - Jacksonville falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Monarchs host Havelock (Havelock, NC) to battle the Rams in a Big East 3A/4A challenge on Thursday, March 21. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 6-2. Havelock won 13-5 in their recent non-league challenge against White Oak (Jacksonville, NC)
