The Smoky Mountain Mustangs baseball team scored 10 runs and held the host North Buncombe Black Hawks to 4 in the Mustangs non-league win on Wednesday.

The Mustangs now own a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they host Tuscola for a Mountain Seven 3A test on Monday, March 24. Smoky Mountain will play a Mountaineers team coming off a 7-6 non-league win over Burns (Lawndale, NC). The Mountaineers record now stands at 7-2.

With the defeat, North Buncombe drops to 8-1 on the year. The Black hawks host McDowell (Marion, NC) to play the Titans in a The Mountain 3A/4A test on Friday, March 21. The Titans go into the test with a record of 4-5. McDowell lost 1-0 in their recent league test against North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC)
