The Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) baseball the visiting Purnell Swett Rams (Pembroke, NC), 5-3 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they host Southern Lee for a Sandhills 3A/4A challenge on Friday, March 21. Pinecrest will clash with a Cavaliers team coming off a 18-3 non-league win over Jordan-Matthews (Siler City, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 7-2.

With the defeat, Purnell Swett drops to 5-5 on the year. The Rams travel to Lumberton (Lumberton, NC) to clash with the Pirates in a United Eight 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, March 25. The Pirates go into the challenge with a record of 7-2. Lumberton won 15-1 in their recent league challenge against Seventy-First (Fayetteville, NC)
