In Wednesday's non-league outing, the visiting Pleasant Plains/New Berlin Cardinals soccer squad scored a tight 6-0 victory over the Mattoon Greenwave.
The Cardinals (2-0) will now prepare for their outing against Mt. Zion (Mt. Zion, IL). The Braves go into the non-league outing with a 1-0 record. In their last outing, Mt. Zion got by Pana (Pana, IL), 9-2, in a non-league outing.
Next up, the Greenwave play the Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL) in a non-league outing, on Saturday, March 22. Mattoon will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Trojans go into the outing with a 1-0 record after their 2-1 non-league win over St. Teresa (Decatur, IL).
