North Carolina High School Softball - Draughn bounces Watauga

March 19, 2025: Boone, NC 28607

In Wednesday's non-league match, the visiting Draughn Wildcats softball team scored a nice 17-4 victory over the Watauga Pioneers.

The Wildcats (6-0) will now prepare for their match against Avery County (Newland, NC). The Vikings go into the Western Highlands 1A/2A match with a 0-4 record. In their last match, Avery County was routed by Draughn (Valdese, NC), 21-4, in a league match.

In their next game, the Pioneers battle the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A match, on Friday, March 21. Watauga will attempt to better on its 2-5 season record. The Cougars go into the match with a 8-1 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Canon-McMillan (Canonsburg, PA).
