McClatchy Lions (Sacramento, CA) backers left the game pleased Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Rosemont Wolverines (Sacramento, CA), 7-2 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, McClatchy upgrades its record to 2-2 on the year. The Lions travel to Cordova (Rancho Cordova, CA) to play the Lancers in a Metropolitan Conference game on Thursday, March 27. The Lancers enter the game with a record of 2-4. Cordova lost 8-6 in their recent non-league game against Rio Americano (Sacramento, CA)

The Wolverines now own a 2-7 record. They play next when they host El Dorado for a Sierra Valley Conference game on Thursday, March 20. Rosemont will play a Cougars squad coming off a 17-4 non-league loss to Placer (Auburn, CA). The Cougars record now stands at 0-3.
