Mt. Eden Monarchs (Hayward, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting American Eagles (Fremont, CA), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Monarchs now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Irvington for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 4. Mt. Eden will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 30-5 non-league loss to Encinal (Alameda, CA). The Vikings record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, American falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Dougherty Valley (San Ramon, CA) to battle the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 8. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Dougherty Valley lost 15-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Berkeley (Berkeley, CA)
