Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mountain Island Charter Raptor (Mt. Holly, NC), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Cavaliers now own a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Butler for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 7. Cuthbertson will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 16-1 non-league loss to Myers Park (Charlotte, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Mountain Island Charter falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Raptor travel to Lake Norman Charter (Huntersville, NC) to battle the Knights in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 4. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Lake Norman Charter lost 13-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Cox Mill (Concord, NC)
