Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Schurr Spartans (Montebello, CA) and the host El Monte Lions (El Monte, CA), witnessed Schurr's softball squad prevail over El Monte by a count of 22-2.

The Spartans now sport a 7-0 record. They play next when they host Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary for a non-league match on Monday, March 7. Schurr will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to Santa Fe (Santa Fe Springs, CA). The Cardinals record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, El Monte moves to 2-1 on the season. The Lions host Nogales (La Puente, CA) to face the Nobles in a non-league match on Friday, March 4. The Nobles go into the match with a record of 2-7. Nogales won 12-3 in their recent non-league match against West Covina (West Covina, CA)
