Monterey Trail Mustangs (Elk Grove, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Center Cougars (Antelope, CA), 22-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sheldon for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 3. Monterey Trail will face a Huskies squad coming off a 7-0 non-league loss to Del Oro (Loomis, CA). The Huskies record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Center falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Cougars host Sutter (Sutter, CA) to face the Huskies in a challenge on Wednesday, March 15. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
